I'm almost finished with this and highly recommend it - in conjunction with Omnivore's Dilemma, Pollan provides a pretty comprehensive look at food and diet today. And not to get preachy, but in my opinion food/diet is a large part of a holistically healthy lifestyle, making these books an imperative read for everyone. Why wouldn't you want to be well educated on the food you're putting in your body throughout every day? Read and enjoy, friends!
Next on my list: Salt, 1491, Team of Rivals, and finishing Just Kids. PS - I want a kindle! To cut down on buying/lugging all of these..

Freeman's, Veniero's, and a birthday
I'm 28! As of yesterday. To celebrate, on Friday we had dinner at Freeman's (yum), and dessert at Veniero's (yum times 100). Sunday was dim sum at Mandarin Court (old stand by), and free asscat show in the evening. I loved every second!!
Weekend Cooking
For good luck in the New Year (which they're supposed to help with), I made black eyed peas this weekend from 101cookbooks. They were kooky man, in a good way.
Part two was lemony yellow split peas from this site for lunches. Both dishes were simple, clean and quick to make, the best kind of recipe.

I love mixed media/collage
Compiling pieces, and putting them together in a new way that expresses something different. A particularly lovely example via.

Weekend Cooking
Tried this chard and white bean stew from Smitten Kitchen this week, and the dry white wine added another dimension that I hadn't cooked with before. It was deemed "more French" than my normal cooking. That means good.
I also made a thyme grain salad with red cabbage that sounds weird but is so yummy. I've been putting the whole thing over kale for lunch this week. The roasted walnuts are a must.

It's the Final Countdooown
Of my 27th year. But really I just wanted an excuse to reference Arrested Development. And post this pic of Buster.
