Wheat Berry Salad
From theKitchn, and so delicious! A mixture of figs and raisins that are poached in the dressing, added to almonds, celery, red onion, lemon zest, parsley, and of course wheat berries. You are depriving yourself of a toothsome experience if you decide not to make this! Heh, toothsome.

Vena Cava and the 90's
The fall collection is a crazy 90's inspiration/explosion, proving my point that they're back friends, and have been for a while. Even for those of you who refuse to believe when I continue to mention..ahem. Wish I still fit into my third grade wardrobe and I wonder if stirrups will reappear, remember those and how they totally took away the shape of your leg?? I mean tapered pleats and jeggings are in so I think probably anything goes.

Buttermilk Farro Salad
I was kinda skeptical of this recipe at first, but I made it for lunch this week and the dressing turned out really nicely. The paper thin chopping of what felt like a zillion veggies was totally worth the effort. Also please note that this serves 8, as in, makes a lot.

Street Art
Awesome international catalog here including:
Also, we saw some really great stuff in Miami, leftover from Art Basel (honestly I think it's a cooler art scene than New York..shh).
Lastly, interesting watch if you haven't seen this already:

Sami Village
Photographer Celine Clanet talks about her time in Maze, located at the highest point of the European map, above the Arctic Circle. She describes the Sami as "quiet people, sometimes melancholic, captivating, who are very proud of their village and territory. They often have binoculars at hand, even in their homes, to gaze at these beautiful landscapes." So neat.

Hey Boo
Ah Me, Banh Mi
Have you tried these? Vietnamese sammies that is, we've now gone to three places that were all fairly cheap, and totally delicious. The first is at the back of a jewelry store in Chinatown (198 Grand St), which sounds sketchy but no joke people wait in line for 45mins around lunchtime - the sammies are like $4 max and worth the wait. Next was Bun and Co, now closed but take my word that it was great. And Friday we tried Num Pang at University Place and 5th. Totally recommend!
Sunday Breakfasts
We've been enjoying leisurely Sunday mornings lately by making breakfast, followed by studying or movie watching. This weekend I made savory french toast with cliantro and green onions, that was super simple and yummy, recipe here. It seems like there's probably a cream cheese or sauce that could go well as a topper.
I also made this blueberry crumble from What Katie Ate, mine had much less crumble but paired with greek yogurt it was still the perfect sweet treat to follow a savory breakfast.
Lastly I revisited this black eyed peas dish from Smitten Kitchen, and I can't emphasize how deliciously easy it is, with cilantro, lemons, tomatoes, turmeric, coconut milk, etc

Happy Valentine's Day!
I made these love birds for my Valentine, I got roses lillies and a haiku. I love to celebrate love! I've also eaten like a pound of sugar so far..

A treat I like
As you can see in this sheepish photo it's sort of a sandwich but that's only because I choose to set it up that way. You will need: dates, almonds, really dark chocolate. Smoosh together and eat, my friends. Side note, sometimes I sub out peanut butter for almonds, and I am sheepish only because I got caught eating this for like the tenth day in a row..

Cherry Lane Bar
349 Broome St - go there! Before 8pm it's half off their yummy house cocktails (including top name liquor/fresh fruit) and the "mixologists" will mix the shit out of your drink.
I find them both so inspiring
